This is a story of two brothers with different ideologies and beliefs. Dragoslav returns from the Soviet Union to Skopje with his girlfriend Vera. They come at a time of great political uncertainty and he is under investigation by the secret services under suspicion of working as a Russian spy. His brother, Kosta, manages to provide for the family the best way he knows, using deceit and blackmail, but with the desire and the idea to survive – at any cost. When Dragoslav is detained for questioning and his fate becomes uncertain, Kosta woos Vera. The film takes place in an atmosphere of tension and fear, during the conflict between the Communist Party of Yugoslavia and Stalinism.
