September 21, Skopje – It is our great pleasure to inform you that the great Italian and world-renowned actress, the legendary Claudia Cardinale, as well as the Oscar-winner Roger Deakins, have arrived in Macedonia this afternoon.

Claudia Cardinale arrived with her daughter, who has her mother’s name, and even though a bit tired, Claudia was in quite a good mood at the airport in Skopje, happy and interested to meet the country which honors her with the Special Golden Camera 300 for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema Art. As a true film diva, she didn’t give out a single gleam of tiredness from the travel, having a few photographs taken of her at the arrival. After a short break in Skopje, she continued her travel to Bitola where she will be given her award tomorrow evening at the opening ceremony of the 39th International Cinematographers Film Festival Manaki Brothers. Right after she arrived, she said she is pleased that the weather here is quite warm and sunny, and that her first impressions are very positive.

The British cinematographer Roger Deakins, Golden Camera 300 for Lifetime Achievement laureate at this year’s 39th edition of the International Cinematographers Film Festival Manaki Brothers, came in Macedonia with his wife Isabella.

He has already arrived in Bitola where he was welcomed by the Festival’s director, Gena Teodosievska, together with the festival team. Deakins and his wife were also in a quite good mood and they agreed to take a few pictures with the young volunteers of the festival.

Roger Deakins is one of the biggest world-renowned cinematographers alive and tomorrow evening he will receive his award. On Monday (September 24) he will hold a masterclass as part of the program of the ICFF Manaki Brothers.
